Information Update - 15th January 2008

Xmas and New Year.
On a positive note it was good to see that disorder and crime was extremely low over the Xmas and New Year period.
No incidents of any particular note were recorded at licensed premises in the villages.

Garage burglaries Trimdon Grange.
Between 10/01/08 and 13/01/08 six garages were broken into in the Trimdon Grange area.
All garages concerned were part of detached garage blocks, the crimes involved up and over doors being bent back to gain access. Property taken was minimal and involved a moped and tools, anyone who has any information regarding these incidents can contact me on the usual number or by e mailing me.

School Parking - Trimdon Grange.

A request to all parents who transport their children to the Trimdon Grange school by car. Please be considerate as to where you park your vehicle, recent complaints received involve driveways being blocked in Sunniside Terrace and vehicles left outside Grange Terrace left in dangerous positions and likely to cause an accident.
Any vehicles left in these circumstances will receive a fixed penalty notice which incurs a 30 pound fine.

New Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)
We now have a new PCSO Gavin Rutter who will assist me with extra high visibility patrols and  support, he can be contacted on the same number 0845 60 60 365 and will assist and advise you accordingly regarding most community related matters.

Pubwatch - Smoking Ban
Following a meeting held with licensees on Tuesday 15th of January 2008 it was decided that should any persons smoke or attempt to smoke on licensed premises then they will be barred for a period of 3 to 12 months. The length of each ban will be determined at monthly meetings held with licensees, Police and Sedgefield Borough Council Licensing Authority.
Persons found committing this offence may also receive a penalty notice incurring a fine.
